HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! :)

Two posts in one day I know LOL. But I've recently gotten out of a schlump of art-sadness. Now I'm totally going through a phase of drawing drawing drawing like I don't have enough time to capture everything that I want to create :) Anyway, here's a little something I made for my roomies and all ya lovebirds out there :)

Here are some other things i made somewhat recently:

A tiny watercolor of sunny Port Canaveral, Florida.
I did this from the window of the cruise ship when I was on holiday this Christmas :)
A little colour study of my villain and a possible henchman.
Just for fun, done last week while in film hist lecture.
All of the above are done with watercolour pencils, although for the landscape I painted by dipping my brush into the pencil tips instead of drawing with them. Enjoy!

Victorian doodles

I just finished these rough explorations for my next set of characters! They were amazingly fun to do. They totally put me on a sketching craze :)
These are my four main characters in a Victorian theme, inspired by the wonderful Deanna Marsigliese (http://pinkydee.blogspot.com/) :)

A small unremarkable peasant girl who works in the mansion.

The cranky old woman who owns the household.

An awkward stable boy with a heart of gold.

The jolly old coachman.

Enjoy!
Critiques are welcome, and name suggestions would be great too :)

Some school work :)

I tried to keep this blog updated with out-of-school things, but that obviously didn't happen :P I PROMISE to do more personal artwork in the next few weeks :) Meanwhile here's my cheap attempt at a new post. Enjoy!

Facial expressions: 1) Laughing outrageously 2) Panicked 3) Flirtatious 4) Skeptical
Initially based on my friend Anita, but it eventually became a typical asian girl with her hair :P

Facial expressions: 1) Guilty 2) Exhausted 3) Very angry 4) Proud of himself
Based on a caricature of my friend Manu

 Have a macaque.

I still havn't made up my mind regarding his sexual orientation :P

Miss Aazzi, excuse my gross clean up :(

Critiques are always welcome :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Sorry, this is such a late Christmas post! I finished this last night but spent half my day wrestling scanners and such, but it's finally up! :D

So, I guess there's a not-too-long but significant part of my life in the back of my mind that I'd forgotten, that a friend made me think of recently :)

When my parents first brought me to Canada and I was 8, we didn't have much besides each other. We never really thought about vacations or luxuries or half of what we have now. I remember my mom walking me to school in the mornings, and the snow was up to my knees. It was difficult to walk so I'd walk in the holes that she'd made ahead of me :P I used to wear that hat my mom made me and my parents used to call me 小红帽 (little red hat). Lol :P

So this year during the break, I've been complaining about being bored and whatnot. But honestly, I'm pretty lucky. My parents make a pretty wicked team, and we've always had what we needed. Us 3 are invincible :)

I wanna thank my parents for their unfailing love and support, one of my best friends, Eyassu (http://left-at-albuquerque.blogspot.com/) for reminding me to appreciate everything I have, and Pascal Campion (http://pascalcampion.com/work/) for some inspiration in art and in life. Check 'em out! :)

Happy holidays everyone!
