Sketching Spots!

I wanted to share 2 great sketching spots in Toronto. As awesome zoo trips are, they can get super expensive, especially including the GO ticket from Oakville.

Both zoos are free to visit and are easily walkable from the subway.

The first is Riverdale Farm in Cabbagetown. Before 1974 it was actually the site of the old Toronto Zoo, now it is a replica of an Ontario farm of the 1920s. It's a lot of fun to visit, you can get to pet the animals and see them up close. They've got goats, cows, horses, pigs, bunnies, turkies, ducks, chickens, etc. There are also some really nice trails connected to the farm for light hiking.

For lunch, there's the cutest little mint coloured snack shop across the street that sells hot dogs, ice cream and kickass lemonade.

The second is High Park. They've got a zoo in the middle of the park with animals like llamas, bison, deer, sheep and cows of sorts. According to the website, the zoo may be shutting down this June due to financial issues ... I hope its not true.

Happy sketching everyone!
