Sketchbook

Just a sketchbook post :)

I was kinda thinking about this cranky New York family

Melly sketches from last week's life drawing class
Hairspray fan art, a zombie general inspired by Natan, and my sketches of Seema's film character!
My friend Seema was kind enough to let me me post these doodles I did of her character.
Her designs are truely inspirational, please check them out!

Zoo sketches
I went to the zoo with my best friend on Saturday, I had a sleepy drawing day, but he got some amazing drawings! I hope posts them soon. Please check out his blog!
The cutest peacock troop walked by the window while we were eating lunch. I'd never seen baby peacocks before ... they look like weird little bald chicken quails SO CUTE!
Birdie (Mastercopy, kinda)
Growing up, I always had this big book of beautiful, incredibly intricate bird watercolours. I used to paint from it when I was in elementary school. I'm not really sure the book is now or who the artist is, but my mom found some photocopies of the pages yesterday. I painted one just for fun. The original looks 1000 times better than mine though, if I find out who the artist is I will definitely link them here. I'm practicing painting without laying down pencil first.
A Calvin Klein model, and Eyassu
Just painting for fun lately ... instead of working on my film haha.

Happy belated birthday to two of the book-iest (and smartest) people I know, Seema and Eyassu!

Hi y'aaaallll!

I know I haven't posted in forever! I wish I could share the stuff Tracy Munch and I have been working on at Chuck Gammage. We've been painting some really fun backgrounds :)

Hope everyone is having a great summer so far, and learning lots at their internships.

Here are some zoo sketches and 5 min life drawing from last week.

My zoo bud will also be posting some sketches soon, check 'em out.

Critiques are welcome!

Outfit

It's been so long since my last post! Our group of 11 members have been working so hard day and night on our film POOF, and as of this morning it is finally finished! Congrats everyone for your great work! Film and art of will be posted soon. The weather is so gorgeous lately (perfect for biking!) and with the film done, it really feels like summer is near. Also REALLY looking forward to this summer. I will be interning at Chuck Gammage Inc. in Hamilton, ON as well as doing some campaign work for Sheridan College.

Quick outfit drawing I did today while chillin' on my patio with my bunny:

Have a great week everyone!

Animals

The weeks have been going by so quickly this past month! I find myself spending so much time on resumes and non-art related things. It's been a little smoother artistically and I've been receiving some unexpected positive feedback and encouragement from my friends. Thanks guys it means a lot <3

A few quick animal character designs, hope you like them :)

February

It's been a while! I've been so busy with film (it's no longer No Mo Fro! We reworked the whole thing over, now it's POOF) and counselling work. Just some artwork I've done in the past week.

Quick watercolour for my counselling supervisor's birthday

I'm on an imaginary vacation of one.

Wee Sketches

Been busy with portfolio and my job lately, so I'm just uploading some day to day sketches that I've been doing on the side. Secretly loving music class ... it's the greatest place ever to sketch, not sure why. Hope all is going well with everyone who shall read this, and Happy Chinese New Year!

I tried a few times to start a dance animation piece of Haifa, but it's much more difficult than I expected!

Haifa

I am putting the final touches on a character design piece I've been working on this week. I'm super excited to finish it and move onto something new!

Her name is Haifa, she is a curvy Arabian dancer girl. I will be posting the designs of Haifa when my portfolio is more ready, hopefully along with a short animated clip of her dancing. In the meantime, these are the rough sketches I did in the exploration stage:

I coloured these old sketches today ... my friends Perin and Caitie.
Had a tiny chameleon moment.

Some Arabian pottery for Haifa's world

London

A few pages of my sketches from London, England.

There wasn't nearly as much time to draw as I'd imagined!
There is soooo much to see and so much walking! :) It was great exercise and a great time.

Hope you enjoy what I did manage :)
